Day 12: When was the last time you went to a coffee shop and had a fine read with a lovely latte? My answer was never. Today called for an intervention. I love books, but I wish I had more time to read them. I try and make many attempts, but they often result in half- read bookshelf decor. Although it was going to be near impossible to even finish a whole book in one night, I set out to Wormhole Coffee in Wicker Park (one of the bomb coffee shops ever, decor & drinks) to have an intentional book reading date with a fellow intern. Of course, no ADVENTure can be complete without an adventure with Mr. Sherlock Holmes (anyone elated for the new season of Sherlock say ayyyyy!!) Especially when accompanied with a Honey Bear Latte. It was very refreshing and was a great reminder of how much I enjoyed reading recreationally! #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 11: While ADVENTures are fun and all, it’s just not feasible to do one daily for a month. Amongst the busy holiday season, there also needs to be a time of rest. Specifically, resting in the Spirit & resting the Lord. I need constant reminder of the love Jesus has for me; I can never get enough of it. So today I decided to take a day off of physical ADVENTure and spend time in spiritual ADVENTure with the Big Man upstairs. So I had a extended quiet time, dove into the Word, and also had some time to listen to some worship music while finished a craft. It was a very serene night, but the Spirit was certainly alive. The above is the paper wreath I finished crafting. Its made out of old book and atlas pages! I know my last few haven’t been as exciting, this is because I’m preparing for some big ones soon! Don’t forget to take times of rest among your business. Remember to be still and know that He is God. #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 10: Last week, I went to the post office to mail a package and was curious of a table set up. I went to go check it out. Turns out it was a program called “Letters to Santa” and you can adopt letters, buy the gifts for the kids and they get sent to them! Basically, you get to be Santa to them! I’m not sure if you can see the letter but it says “from Ella I want a stufed Animle leperd.” And that she will recieve and then some. I hope Ella and her family have an amazing Christmas and that this gift brings as much joy to her heart as it does in mine to be able to give it. Merry Christmas to all & remember to do good. #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 9: Frankly, I couldn’t resist. It snowed a great amount yesterday, enough for me to frolic around my backyard and make a snow angel. The snow wasn’t good packing snow, so a snowman couldn’t happen. It was a simple one, but sometimes its the little things that simply bring the most joy, right? #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 8: Admist the flurries and snow, @sereeniee and I treked our way to the Christkindlmarket at the Daley Plaza. With the sacrifice of a couple frozen appendages, we experienced bright lights, intricate ornaments, and a hot McDonalds drink. And then I came home to shovel the sidewalk. Oh the joys! Happy snow, Chicagoans! #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 7: Greetings from the Chicago Winter Renegade Craft Fair!!! This is my second time coming to the fair, my first was the summer! And everytime I get to see the creative works of local artists! Twas a fabulous time. Spend 2+ hours and probs a paycheck and more, but I’m just doin me. The artists were super nice and amazingly talented. I even met one from Champaign who designs hilarious and whimsical illustrations. Go check it out this weekend if you’re in Chicago. They have the fair twice a year, once in the summer and again in the winter. Its pretty rad, @renegadecraft. Get crafty! #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 6: Right after my rotation I left to go to a little place in Andersonville to rendezvous with some conifers. They had a good variety of different Christmas trees and they made fabulous wreaths like the one above. Not only so, but I also decided that being in Andersonville means a trip to Metropolis, so I got a Dirty Chai Latte. And to top off the day, I found a Fleetwood Mac record for fifty cents and a Norman Rockwell’s America collection coffee table book for eighty cents at the thrift store. #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 5: For those who do not know, every Thursday the Art Institute of Chicago is free to all Illinoians from 5-8pm. There is currently an exhibit entitled Art & Appetite that I wanted to check out. Its a collection of art pieces related to food, how fitting to my education. There were many still life oil on canvas paintings, some classic Andy Warhol, the infamous Hawknight painting, and a giant canvas fried egg installation. (Her?) I haven’t been back to the Art Institute in ages and there was no way you can only spend a short time there, multiple free Thursdays are needed to see everything. And of course, I could not leave without getting a pic with the good ol’ American Gothic. #ADVENTures #vscocam

Day 4: This morning, I decided to take a trip to the Zhou B. Art Center down the street in my neighborhood. I always drove past, but never found a good time to go in and check it out. I walked in and there was no one in sight, just original art pieces created by local artists exhibited and serene music being played. After about 15 minutes of being there, the maintenance guy introduced himself and asked if it was my first time there. After breifly conversing, he offered  to take me up to the floors to the artist studios and see their work. I took the offer and had the opportunity to roam the whole art center and look at some of the great pieces of work by really talented and creative artists creating from so many different mediums like jewlery, painting, mixed media, it was all so cool. Needless to say, I’m definitely going back. #ADVENTures
